Questions About Your Remodel? Ask Away.

These are the questions Houston homeowners ask us most: what we handle, who does the work, permits, and how estimates run. Don't see yours? Call and ask the man who runs the jobs.

What areas do you serve?
We work about 15 to 20 miles around downtown Houston, inside Loop 610 and out. That covers Houston itself plus Bellaire, West University Place, Pasadena, Pearland, Sugar Land, Missouri City, Friendswood, Stafford, Deer Park, Humble, South Houston and Jersey Village. If your house sits near that circle, call and ask. The estimate is free either way.
What services do you offer?
We are a full-service general contractor. Home remodeling, kitchens, bathrooms, home additions, custom home building, garage conversions and garage apartments are the construction side. Our master plumbers handle whole-house repipes, sewer line replacement and water heaters. Our electricians replace panels and run overhead-to-underground conversions.
Do you give free estimates?
Yes. Estimates and design consultations are both free. Trey comes to the house, looks at the space and the systems, and talks through what you want. You get a real number for your project, not a phone guess.
Who does the work, you or subcontractors?
The core work stays in house. Master plumbers and electricians are on the team, and our own crew does sheetrock, tile, cabinets, trim and paint. For design we bring an architect, two engineers and interior designers we have worked with for years, or we work from your designer's plans. One contractor answers for the whole job.
Do you handle permits and inspections?
Yes. Remodels that touch structure, plumbing, gas or wiring need permits, and we pull them. In Houston that runs through the Houston Permitting Center. Cities like Bellaire, West University Place and Pearland issue their own permits, and we file with the right office for your address. Inspections get scheduled and met as part of the job.
How long has VCS been in business?
Trey Seiter has been contracting in Houston since 2007 and brings over 20 years of hands-on experience. VCS Construction and Remodeling is his company. Much of our work comes from repeat clients and referrals around central Houston.
Can you fix what the plumbing work opens up?
Yes, and that is the point of hiring a remodeling contractor for pipe work. A repipe or a sewer dig opens walls, floors or concrete. Plumbing-only companies leave that repair to someone else. Our crew patches the sheetrock, matches the texture, repairs the floors and paints.
Do you work on older and historic Houston homes?
Old houses are a specialty. We have done full renovations of historic Houston bungalows, down to restoring the original wood windows. Pier and beam foundations, galvanized pipe, cast iron drains and old wiring are familiar ground. We plan for what an old house hides before demolition starts.
